Rita has been performing

professionally for over 40 years.

In all that time she has practiced

many styles.

She is mostly rooted in blues, rock

and reggae, though her beginnings

were in classical and folk music.

Many roads and years traveled

lead to the place

Rita is a practicing producer and engineer. Starting with a four track Teac reel to reel... and graduating to digital multi tracks with Protools, yet another long and hard road traveled. As the song writing was developing so was the technical skills to capture all those ideas. Now she is recording and producing for other local musicians.

It all starts with a journey.

Rita also performs with many talented and local musicians. Periodically she will perform with rotating members in the Rita Witter Band, but currently is performing with a three piece all woman band IMOK (If Mom Only Knew) a Rock a Billy-Punk type band. She also is working a duo ”PurpleO” with Jeffrey Tyler performing originals and classic blues and rock tunes along with doing solo shows.
